Designed for your most precise weighing needs, Troemner's Precision Analytical Reference Weights and Weight Sets utilize a specially developed austenitic stainless steel, Alloy 8, available exclusively from Troener. Alloy 8 is similar to the material originally specified for the state primary standards. Alloy 8 possesses closely controlled density, extremely low magnetic susceptibility, excellent stability and resistance to corrosion, assuring a very stable mass over time.

Weights 1g to 1kg are manufactured using Alloy 8 and come in cylindrical shapes with knobs on top for easy handling. Weights from 1mg to 30mg are aluminum and flat, with one side turned up to form a handle for non slip gripping with forceps. Weights from 50mg to 500mg are stainless steel and flat with one side turned up to form a handle. Weight sets 200g and above are supplied in oak cases while weight sets below 200g are supplied in strong polypropylene cases. All weight sets are marked with serial number, accuracy class and date of calibration. Forceps are included

Weight sets are designed to achieve any total mass by combining smaller masses. Weight sets are supplied in a 5-2-2-1 series meaning that weights beginning with a 2 are doubled in each decade and weights beginning with a 5 or 1 are single in each decade. The exception applies when a set begins with a 2. In that case the first weight is single, unless otherwise noted, and the remaining 2"s in the set are doubled in each decade.
